What defines a portrait? Is it the person in the photograph? What if parts of the person are covered? For example the face. Would it still be a portrait?
Through this series Nefeli is taking portrait photographs of her friends in an unorthodox way, challenging the definition of a portrait. Window reflections and shadows are crucial elements of the work: pieces of the photographer can be traced back in each photograph portraying her connection with the subjects.
